Homecoming Was A Success!
Great
students make a great Homecoming Week.
Fantastic hall decorations, great dress-up days, fun parade, lively
Powder Puff game, well-attended dance, and energetic coronation were a part of
this year’s activities. THANK YOU to the students, staff, and
community for making this week so enjoyable.

VREP
Shane Trautsch and Zack Vandervort were presenters at
the STEM day for 5th - 8th graders in Elkader on Monday,
September 30. They led three
sessions throughout the day introducing the Blender computer program as representatives
of VREP (Virtual Reality Education Pathways) which is a class they have been
part of since it was started in January 2012.
A Different Learning Environment
The 21st
Century Classroom involves more than just the latest technological devices. It
is how interactive technology, digital tools, the Internet, and a teacher armed
with the right knowledge combine to provide a learning environment that engages
today's students in learning.
·
Engages the student and encourages
collaboration
·
Combines information and
opportunities for learning
·
Recognizes vast sources of
information and knowledge on the Internet
One way to promote this is via
different student learning spaces. Ten years ago, we had pencil, paper, and overhead projectors. Today the 21st Century Classroom lets us create a
learning environment richer, more engaging, and more customized to a given
student's needs than ever before.
What is
the next step to promote collaboration and inquiry? Node and buoy chairs and paper tables.
