Share Accomplishments!
Teachers are encouraged to send class accomplishments to Keri Schatz (Public Relations) so that others may know the great activities going on every day. Please include pictures.
Twitter: Everyone is encouraged to follow all of the examples of learning shared on Twitter at #2020HowardWinn and #cadetnation.

The Chip Shoppe fundraiser delivery
The delivery date is November 18th. Deliveries will be made to all elementary schools. Parents, please make plans to pick up your child's/childrens' items after school. This is the fundraiser that pays for the district-wide field trips.

C US Bank Student Learning Fund Grant
Thank you to C US Bank and to Tiffany McCabe for applying for the grant. The $200 grant will be used to support our PBIS (Positive Behavior Interventions & Supports) program. This program provides common teaching and expectations for behavior.

SINA (School in Need of Assistance)
Information regarding Crestwood's SINA Year 3 designation was shared at the November Board Meeting on Nov. 11th at Elma. This designation comes from unmet academic trajectories (goals) in reading. As in past years, this involves a parent letter defining SINA, school choice options, and academic support options. More information will be shared via our school website http://www.howard-winn.k12.ia.us/ --> Centers --> Crestwood Elementary --> School in Need of Assistance, and local newspapers following the Board meeting. Please let me know if you have any questions.

Parents receiving letters (Crestwood Elementary) of SES (Supplemental Educational Services) options are encouraged to return the form and enroll your child in upcoming tutoring in reading and math. Students showed six (6) months of educational growth from three (3) months of tutoring! EduCare was the company that provided this service last year, and we are planning on their services this year. The plan will be for the tutoring to be offered beginning after the first of the year.

Peer Observations
As part of our SINA action plan and best practice, teachers will begin to observe other teachers while they teach. In addition to common planning time, this is a powerful step toward continued improvement of professional skills, especially since 90% of teachers report that they learn the most from other teachers.

Upcoming...
Monday: The Chip Shoppe deliveries.
Tuesday: Elma Music Program @ 7:00 p.m.
