McElroy Grant awarded!
Thank you to the McElroy selection committee and our 4th grade teachers for completing the grant. The result is $1,950.00 of robotics equipment. Students will use computer coding to get the robots to perform the desired functions.

Breakfast & the Start of the School Day
This is a reminder that breakfast begins being served at 7:45 a.m. and students are expected in the classrooms by 8:15 a.m. Please help students arrive by 8:00 a.m. if they plan to eat breakfast.

Procedure for Picking up your Child at School
Reminder that all parents and visitors are to report to the office upon arriving at school. Your child will either be waiting for you in the office based upon a prior note or call informing the school of an appointment, or your child's teacher will be called asking them to send your child to the office to meet you. Please report to the office rather than reporting directly to the classroom.

This would also apply to picking up your child after school. Parents and siblings are to wait in the cafeteria, allowing teachers to get students ready for dismissal, and then students will walk to the cafeteria to meet you.

National Education Support Professionals Day-November 21
Thank you to all in our educational community for your dedication toward providing the finest educational setting for the children of our district. Your efforts are truly appreciated!

A Barnyard Moosical
Just wanted to tell the students of Elma Elementary that they did a great job with their fall concert on Tuesday. Thank you to Mrs. Barb Holstrom, teachers, and staff that organized everything to make for an enjoyable night.

November 20 In-service
Conversation regarding the intervention schedule continued with grade-level teachers sharing the interventions in place. The collaboration and efforts of all teachers and volunteers are making a positive academic impact for the children of our community. We also spent time creating an intervention bank of strategies for all teachers. The intervention time provides focused small-group time for all students in specific areas of instruction. You may hear this called CADET Time.

Data suggests that 90% of teachers report that the most useful teaching strategies are shared by colleagues. Knowing this, the next step will be peer visits so that teachers may observe strategies of their colleagues in practice. This is also a key component in highly effective schools.

Updates & Ideas
Below are two ideas being considered for updating the cafeteria at Crestwood Elementary and Junior High.
