Busy week for the Cadets...since the last update, the Cadet sports teams have been busy. Following are some of the highlights.
  • The wrestlers had their conference dual opener and lost a tough contest to Charles City. The next morning they traveled to Oelwein for a tournament and came away with a very convincing team championship with eight first place finishers, one second, one third, one fourth, and two fifth place finishers.
  • The JV wrestlers also competed in a tournament at Postville on Monday. As a team, they won 16 matches and lost 12 with four champs, four runner-ups, two third place finishers and one fourth place finisher.
  • Crestwood hosted a JV/Varsity reserve basketball tournament on Saturday and came away with the championship medals.
  • On Tuesday night, all high school basketball teams tangled with the Oelwein Huskies, except for the 9th grade girls as Oelwein was short on numbers. All teams were victorious. With victories Tuesday night, the 9th grade boys have a record of 4-0 going into games with Riceville on Thursday night. The JV and Varsity boys have a 4-1 record going into the weekend. The 9th girls have just had 3 games heading into the Riceville game, but stand at 2-1 on the year. The JV girls have a record of 4-2 and the varsity girls stand at 5-1 heading into the Christmas break.

Weather concerns cause some cancellations...with concerns over poor weather arriving, the wrestling meet at New Hampton was postponed Thursday night. The JV/Varsity games vs. MFL-MarMac were also postponed. Makeup dates will be published in the next update. Also look to Twitter and the TPD for makeup dates.

Weekend Activity...both the varsity wrestlers and varsity boys basketball players will be in action this weekend.  The wrestlers open Friday morning with a matchup vs. Independence at 9:00 in the Battle of Waterloo. You can follow the matches on trackwrestling. The Battle of Waterloo is a two day tournament. The boys basketball team will travel to Spirit Lake for an overnight stay and two games. They play Spirit Lake Friday night and they play Storm Lake at Spirit Lake Saturday afternoon at 3:00.

**Results from Thursday night's 9th grade games and the weekend activities will be included in the next update. Also check out Cadet sports on twitter and the TPD for more details.

And to all of Cadet Nation....have a great Christmas and Happy New Year!!!!
