OK...winter is back!  Obviously, this latest round of winter weather has delayed the start to our outdoor spring events.  Both the girls and boys track teams had meets cancelled this week, and the boys and girls golf teams have lost their first meets of the year as well.  Next week, the weather forecast looks to be better so we will see what happens. We do know that it is going to be awhile before the Cresco Golf Course is ready...
  • Continue to check the normal sites for cancellations, postponements, and any rescheduled dates
New Scoreboards on the horizon???  The Crestwood All-Sports Booster Club and I are in serious talks with vendors about the purchase of new scoreboards for both the baseball and softball fields, as well as the high school gym.  Not only are the current scoreboards quite old, but they are "bulb" machines and soon it will be difficult to find replacement bulbs.  The new boards are an LED design and will also be more energy efficient.  Our hope is to have new baseball and softball boards up before the season begins.  The football scoreboard is also on our radar, but that may become part of a larger renovation project down the road involving the entire stadium complex.

Athletic Director Convention...This past week I attended the Iowa High School Athletic Directors Association annual convention.  The featured speaker was legendary Nebraska football coach, and senator, Tom Osborne.  His presentation and message was a reflection of what is good about high school athletics.  I have great respect for people such as Tom who have given their entire careers for the betterment of youth in America.  The Iowa High School Athletic Directors Association is comprised of a tremendous group of really good people, and it has been an honor to have been a part of it.

Thanks to Kevin Kerian, Wayne Maskek, and helpers for shoveling snow off the track last Sunday!!!  Your help and support of Crestwood Track is very much appreciated!!!

Have a Good Weekend!!!!!
