Athletic Director Jim Obermann
The suspect early spring weather continues to hamper and dampen spring sports... Hopefully, despite not being ideal, the weather will cooperate enough today (Thursday) so that all spring teams can be in action. The boys and girls track teams are slated to compete at MFL, the girls golf team plans to travel to Waverly, and the boys golf team travels to Decorah for a tournament.
As an athletic director and spring sport coach, I am constantly checking the extended forecast, and it sure looks to improve next week, which is good, as all teams have a busy week. The jr. high track teams are also set to begin meets so the timing of good weather would be good. Following is a list of events at home next week (check the northeastiaconference.org site for complete schedules):
- Boys Golf - Monday - 4:00
- Girls Track Invite - Tuesday - 4:30
- J.H. Girls Track Invite - Thursday - 4:15
- Prom - Saturday!!!
Busy times are ahead, and fans are encouraged to check out the Cadets in action!!
Scoreboards are coming... New baseball and softball scoreboards are ordered and the plan is to have them up and operational before the seasons begin. A great big thank you to the All-Sports Booster Club for making this happen. These new boards will be LED designs with wireless operation. Discussions are also taking place concerning the replacement of the scoreboards in the high school gym.
I'm sure the student body and staff are anxious for an extra day off on Friday...looking to get back in the swing of things on Monday!!!! Have a great extended weekend!!!!
