Dollars for Scholars
I want to take this opportunity to thank Crestwood Dollars for Scholars for their hard work and commitment to supporting our graduates for their further education.  The dollar amount given to students since the beginning of Dollars for Scholars is amazing!  Thank you!

Preschool & Kindergarten Buddy Day
Students came together on May 22 to introduce the preschoolers to what learning is like in kindergarten.  The PK & K students had class together and played during recess.  Students rode the bus to Cresco with their teachers from Elma and Lime Springs/Chester.  There were smiles all around as students made new friends and became better acquainted with their classrooms for next year.

HW Competency-Based Education Meeting
The local team met for a day of planning at the NICC building on May 19.  Ten students from JH and HS participated along with teachers, administrators and representatives from the college.  Students contributed valuable, insightful questions and comments during all of the discussion topics.  What an amazing group of students!
The first stages of implementation for components of CBE were planned for 2014-2015 at the grades 7-12 levels.

Preschool PBIS Coaches
Mrs. Shari Marr and Mrs. Megan Merkel attended an Early Childhood PBIS training for coaches this week.  Thanks to these teachers for helping Howard-Winn become a leader among preschools in our AEA for implementation of PBIS.  Our district will continue work with the PBIS Cadre next year.
