Tonight we play our final 9/V Football game @ Vinton-Shellsburg starting with 9th grade @ 5:00 followed by Varsity @ 7:00. Good Luck Players and Coaches!

Monday will be the first round of playoffs for Varsity Volleyball starting at 7:00 @ Waukon vs. Waukon. Good Luck Cadets!

Congratulations to the Cross Country teams who finished strong @ West Deleware yesterday. We are proud of your accomplishments and look forward to a great year next year!

Jon Gordon is a favorite of mine and seems to portray many great tools for us to keep in our minds. ALL of us professionals need to be able to communicate effectively to help our youth succeed. If you get the chance read his book Energy Bus.

Proud to say that Howard-Winn is on this track! Conformity and the "just to get by" attitudes are becoming non-existent here. We are setting a new precedent here for other districts to follow. Lead ahead Cadets.

Through the tough times we have to remember that our students are out for extra/co-curricular activities to enjoy them. We need to let them enjoy these activities and not play/participate through them. They are learning more than just the game, life lessons with relationships and team building are our focus in high school sports.

This past Wednesday and Thursday we sent a team to Des Moines to help our schools improve with climate and culture. The program is called IS3 (Safe and Supportive Schools). We were the only school in attendance with students and the State was impressed with the participation of these young ladies. We are excited and proud to have our students lead us in this progressive initiative.

Attitude + Effort = Unlimited Potential

The culture of a school encompasses many different wants and needs. Our mission is to positively influence each and every student to the best of our ability.

I hope everyone has a great week and continue AHEAD Cadets!
