What message are you sending?
Schools in the 21st Century are seen as a location for young men and women to learn the skills they need to become entrepreneurs, problem solvers, and collaborators.
That is all well and good.  But to be a Howard-Winneshiek Cadet should be something more.  To be a Cadet, you should be hard working, loyal, compassionate, empathic, cordial, and above all -  HAPPY.  Students in schools across America lack happiness in their hallways.  The "vibe" in the hallways this year is positive at Howard-Winn.  How do we continue this?  How do educators continue to provide student enjoyment, fulfillment, and purpose in their lives?
One way for this to occur is through looking at the actions that we take as adults.  We are role models of moldable young minds.  Our actions, our words, our HAPPINESS can easily rub off on others.  Young people are seeking and looking to us to determine the course of their lives.  How we go about our lives is the manner is which they will live their lives.
