Youth Frontiers - The Character Challenge

Mock Crash
Grades 8-11 will be observing a Mock Crash on April 8, 2015.  This may be a very impactful event to stress the importance of safe driving whether it be intoxication or texting while driving.

Prom is April 18.  A few items which will be STRICTLY enforced this year:

- To be considered a Junior or Senior, students must meet credit requirements AS WELL AS be in good academic standing.

- Current High School students (either as junior/senior or as a date freshman/sophomore) must have all PASSING grades and not have any attendance issues for two weeks prior to prom.  Attendance issues would be any unexcused absences.

- Doors will lock immediately after Grand March - if a student is going to the dance, they will need to stay in the building.

Pictures: Starting at 5:30 p.m.
Grand March: 7:00 p.m.
Dance: 8:30 - 10:30 p.m.

After Prom: 11:00 p.m. - 2:00 a.m.

Scheduling for 2015-2016 is underway.  Mrs. Hartman has been working hard to explain course offerings and offer career planning for current High School students.  8th grade students also visited the High School this week.  Students were able to listen to teachers describe Freshman level coursework.  This was a great opportunity to make connections and ease the transition for next year.

Summative Observation
Teachers on the formal observation cycle will be finishing up their hard work this month.  A teacher's collection of artifacts which demonstrate their accomplishment towards the Iowa Teaching Standards.  These artifacts are due by the end of April.
