Athletics and Activities
There are many lesson to learn from participating in Athletics and Activities. Team work, self sacrifice, commitment, and how to handle not only success, but also adversity. It seems to me at times we live in a very selfish world. Turn on the TV and you hear about "me and I" and not so much about "us and TEAM". When the reporters descend upon a participant after a contest their questions are "what do you think about your performance". When the participant starts to talk about the TEAM it seems the reporter "cuts away".

Be it Basketball or Jazz Band or Speech or FFA, when you join a TEAM, you commit to the TEAM.  I saw a poster once that said "There is no "I" in TEAM".  In a selfish world, TEAM is a hard lesson to learn.

Our Boy's and Girl's basketball TEAMS have faced adversity this season in having players get hurt and not able to participate on the floor. In both instances, healthy TEAMmates have stepped up to compete. Injured players, in street clothes, are right there, continuing to contribute from the bench.  THE lesson our kids need to learn is a chorus is more powerful than a solo and that together we can accomplish great things!   CADET NATION moves forward.

Hours of Instruction Missed (Update)
Please take note that there is 21.5 hours of time in our "bank" left.

We are in continual contact with the the National Weather Service in La Crosse, Wisconsin  http://www.weather.gov/arx/ and are tracking the potential weather for next week.

Great WINS for the CADET Girl's and Boy's Basketball games this past week! Boy's 2 points over Clear Lake and a "buzzer beater win for the girls against Waukon.

Crestwood took 4 improv groups and 2 Ensemble Acting groups to district speech contest in Waukon last Saturday. The improv group consisting of sophomores Justin Holt, Raymond Himli, Cassy Kennon and Alex Ruroden advanced to state, receiving a Division 1 rating for their improv.

The freshmen ensemble group of Kayla Hruska and Alison Butikofer also received a Division 1 rating for their performance of "Dibs" by Ken Preuss. The scene takes place during a study session that evolves into a fight over a cute boy.
