Homecoming 2016
Congratulations to the 2016 Homecoming Court and to Queen Blair Bodermann and King John Ayers! A BIG SHOUT OUT to the Homecoming Committee for all your hard work and planning to make this a very special week. CADET NATION has been alive this last week with pep and spirit!

It was very thoughtful to include the elementary students in the parade this year by "making the loop" through the elementary parking lot.  Doing this allowed for ALL of CADET NATION to catch Homecoming Spirit!

Stadium Update

Work is moving forward with improvements to Crestwood Stadium. The new scoreboard was installed this past week just in time to use at the homecoming football game. A BIG SHOUT OUT to the Crestwood ALL Sports Booster Club for making this happen!

Tentative timelines are emerging for concessions, cement, bleachers, and lights to complete the project.  In October, there will be a public hearing, board action and bids let with construction to begin in November.  The track will be scheduled to be resurfaced this summer AFTER track season and construction of the home bleachers will begin then as well.

Passion, Profession and GRIT
There are those who say the most powerful muscle in your body is your brain; working and developing it begins with doing hard stuff and your mindset. CADET NATION had the opportunity to learn with Trevor Ragan last week about growth mindset.

The experience was open to not only staff, but the community.  Monday evening, parents and students got to hear the message on how to TRAIN UGLY. It was outstanding.

This week Holocaust survivor Max Garcia will be with us sharing his story.  Talk about GRIT and having a mindset to survive!  Max will talk with students and, on Tuesday, September 27 at 6:00 - 8:00 pm., he will speak at the Cresco Theater. This will be open to the public. THANK YOU to the Howard-Winn Foundation for supporting this event and to Howard-Winn Director of Students Services Terese Jurgensen for making this happen.

SHOUT OUTS!

  • A BIG SHOUT OUT to Coach Lentz and the CADET Football TEAM for their win over top ten 2A ranked Clarion-Goldfield-Dows last week and BEST of luck against Homecoming opponent Osage.  Keep ROCKIN!
  • CADET Cheerleaders RULE!  Spirit, Pep, positive energy! THANK YOU!
  • The CADET Marching Band enters competition this Saturday. GOOD LUCK!
  • CADET Volleyball is rolling on!  Keep doing good stuff.
  • A BIG SHOUT OUT to the CADET Cross County. You guys are setting the pace!  PROUD of you!
New Hampton has challenged Crestwood HS!
A Goodwill trailer will be placed in the Crestwood parking lot Monday at 8:00am. At the end of the week the trailer will be picked up and weighed. The school that brings in the most donations by weight will win $250

Learning at Howard-Winn last week looked like...
