Election Day and Veteran's Day 2016
This past week 2020 Howard-Winn, the state of Iowa and the entire United States of America modeled and demonstrated Democracy and Freedom.  Tuesday we all went to the polls to vote, electing a new President as well as other officials.  Now the country is readying for the transfers of power.  In other global places this would trigger death, imprisonment and destruction of property. Not in the USA.

Folks are reacting to the outcome of the election, some with joy, some not, but the bottom line is that as Americans, we the people decide the course.  Discourse and discussion are allowed and from that we ALL move forward.

In the same week we recognized and honored fellow Americans that are, or have served, in our Nation's military.  Our Veteran's sacrifices, and the sacrifices of their families, are the reason we enjoy FREEDOM.

The United States of America is a "work in progress" not perfect, but seeking to be.  THANK YOU to ALL who voted, THANK YOU to ALL who have served, and THANK YOU to All who model respect and civility.

CADETS FORWARD!

Tuesday, November 15 the Howard-Winn story will be shared with the White House Domestic Policy Council and leadership from the U.S. Department of Education in Washington D.C.  This is the 3rd time in 4 years that we have been asked to tell what we are doing here in Iowa and specifically at Howard-Winn.

Embedding technology into learning, collaborating with Northeast Iowa Community College (NICC) and partnering with Iowa business and industry, our rate of change continues to accelerate exponentially.  We are quickly approaching the goal that the class of 2020, be the best prepared kids on the planet.  National leadership want to know how we are doing it and how can it be scaled.

More information will follow.  CADETS FORWARD!
