Winter in IOWA, you have to love it!
This past week Howard-Winn received anywhere from 9 to 12 inches of snow.

With school closed on Wednesday, and a 2 hour late start on Thursday, we now have 10.5 hours left in the "bank".

This being just January, we have more weather ahead of us.

Remember that once the we have used the remaining 10.5 hours, time will need to be "made up".

Make-up time will begin on May 26, 2017.

THINK NO FOG, NO SNOW and GOOD WEATHER!

We need your HELP Please!
We are partnering with BrightBytes, an educational software company, in order to learn more about our students’ school and home technology use for learning.

For that reason, we are reaching out to ask you to take part in the Clarity questionnaire. Your participation is essential in helping us form a more complete picture of technology use for learning in your students’ lives. Please know that all of your responses will remain anonymous to protect your privacy.

Howard-Winn students, staff and patrons will begin taking the online BrightBytes, Clarity questionnaire starting the week of January 23rd. Here is the link:

Community Voice: Needs assessment
Board Members and Staff, Parents and Community Members, Students, your voice is important as Howard-Winn begins to take next steps forward.

Our school district has requested a Needs Assessment Survey be conducted by the Iowa Association of School Boards (IASB).  This electronic online survey is designed to help us assess our strengths and areas of needed improvement, with a focus on improving student achievement. All responses are anonymous and we "Thank you" in advance for your participation.
The site will become active and a link will be provided on February 13, 2017!
