From Basketball to Track and Golf!
With the completion of Basketball season, TRACK and GOLF season is now underway.

This picture is of junior Ellie Friesen taken at the University of Northern Iowa Dickinson Indoor Relays where she won the 1500 meter race. CADETS forward!

Stadium Construction Update
Even as the Stadium work is underway, CADETS are still able to work out on the track!

This is what the complex looked like with the old bleachers down and the site work ready.

Thank You Brent Mehmert, Mehmert Excavation, for the DRONE pictures!

The work is progressing quickly. This past week steel went up and the goal is to begin on the new 498 square feet press box next week!

Resurfacing the TRACK will be scheduled for July. The entire project will be complete this fall!

Good things are happening in CADET NATION!

Thank You! Thank You! Thank You! Thank You!
The Crestwood High School girls basketball team and coaches would like to thank all of Cadet Nation for their support.  Your support has truly helped make this special season.

A special "Shout Out" and THANK YOU to local business and community members for financial support for meals! Also a "BIG THANKS" to the All Sports Booster Club for helping to provide Charter Pep Buses to Des Moines!

Superintendent Search
The District has hired Ray and Associates to assist in the search for a new superintendent, and if you live in the Howard-Winn District, they would like your help!  Please follow the link below to take a survey that will assist in creating the profile of the the ideal candidate.  Thanks for your help!

Sharing the Howard-Winn Story:
ICE and University of Northern Iowa
Over the past two weeks we have been able to share the Howard-Winn story. At the Illinois Computer Educator's Conference (ICE) outside Chicago, we gave conference attendee's a virtual tour of the K-8 Building and Secondary Campus.  On the campus of the University of Northern Iowa at the College of Education Advisory Committee meeting, Howard-Winn was "in the room" adding to the conversation, helping to shape new teacher preparation programs.

And this just in, for the third time in a row, Howard Winn was again named by the website GETTING SMART as one of "30 School District worth visiting!'  Number 17! http://www.gettingsmart.com/2017/03/smart-list-school-districts-worth-visiting/

This is all happening because of the courages and committed learners in CADET NATION!
CADETS FORWARD!
