"STEAM ENERGY" changes lives and changes the world!
Thank you to Mrs. McConnell for "tweeting out" about 9th grader Marshall Cotton and sharing of his self portrait. With pencil and charcoal Marshall created this master piece! VERY COOL!

Howard-Winn not only emphasizes Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM) but also the ARTS! The ARTS provides an avenue for young people to create and express thinking and emotion. Painting, sculpting, music, dancing, poems, speech and drama all connect to STEM and together enhance creativity and imagination.

This past week the Speech Department had their recognition banquet.  Thank you to Mrs. Day and Mrs. LeFebvre for supporting and coaching CADET NATION speech students!

This past week CRESTWOOD CADETS submitted 40 pieces of Art to the 2017 Northeast Iowa Art Show!

10 CADETS were ART SHOW Winners!

Good kids doing GREAT things!

IHSMA State Instrumental and Vocal Music Contest

Crestwood Future Farmers of America (FFA) Chapter
Last Monday evening the Crestwood FFA Chapter had their award Banquet. Good food and a celebration of accomplishments.  FFA is the BEST STEM, school to work program in the United States!  Great work Mr. Adams and Chapter members.

Stadium Update
Work is continuing and progress is being made on the stadium project. The brick work is 99% completed on the concession stand and the interior is being prepared for drywall and counters. The bathrooms are being "plumbed out" and the electrical work is "in the works". The bleachers are complete on the home side and the pressbox is framed out. There are ADA approved wheelchair ramps on both ends of the home bleacher seating! With good weather it won't be long now!

Be sure to catch the JAZZ SPOTLIGHT this weekend! Great music and "encore" performances from State Speech qualifiers!
