Scholastic Art and Writing Awards


Crestwood High School is proud to announce that out of 16 total submissions, eight Crestwood High School students, with nine pieces of art, were recognized as regional award recipients at the 2017 Scholastic Art & Writing Awards competition.
The Belin-Blank Center at the University of Iowa has released the official list of regional winners, including one “gold” award, three “silver” awards, and five “honorable mention” awards for Crestwood students. As one of the largest national affiliates, the Belin-Blank Center, according to a news release, adjudicated nearly 10,000 pieces of art and writing from the Iowa and Midwest regions.
Award recipients from Crestwood include:

Photography Silver Key: Annie Fye and Sarah Mashek.
Painting Silver Key: Anna Ptacek.
Photography Honorable Mention: Abbe Foote, Annie Fye, Jenna Pecinovsky, Emily Reinhart, and Addie Sopha.

Abbie Bergan, 10th grade, was named a Gold Key recipient and, additionally, is an American Visions Award winner (aka, “Best in Show”) for her photography piece titled “Color Pop,” featuring an up-close and abstract take on a Donaldson Company, Inc. air filter. Five works, from across all categories and grade levels, are selected from those earning Gold Keys as the Best in Show for each regional program.

Students who also entered artwork in the Scholastic competition include: Kaitlyn Burke, Bobbi Hageman, Sonya Hurst, Bailie Magic, Mieka Regan, Jordan Rice, Nicole Saltou, and Rachel Steffen.

All-State Speech Performers




Congratulations to all state speech competitors for your performances at state speech special shout out to Justin Holt and Rielynn Thompson for being selected to perform at All-State on March 27th at the McLeod Center in Cedar Falls. Congratulations Rielynn and Justin!




Crestwood FFA Conduct of Meetings Team

The FFA Conduct of Meetings Team qualified for the State Competition.  Congratulations Team!
Team members:  April Halverson, Alex Johnston, Erin Ryan, Kayley Menne, Aly Reicks, Cassie Hosek, and Dylan Hauber.

Crestwood High School Curriculum Guide

The Crestwood High School Curriculum Guide was approved at the School Board meeting on Monday. This guide has been set up to ensure that all students attending the secondary school to acquire proper pre-requisition course for graduation. This booklet will explain the required courses, elective and pre-requisites needed.

Course registration for the 2017-2018 school year is currently underway.
