Learning is collaborative!
This photo was shared by Mrs. Merkel in last week's "Twitter Tuesday". It is of Preschool and forth grade "Reading Buddies".  How cool is it that a fourth grader lead and learned with Preschool students!  To me this illustrates that we are ALL learners and that we are ALL teachers, regardless of chronological age. CADETS FORWARD!

The Crestwood Band took off before sunrise Thursday, heading South to Nashville, Tennessee by way of St Louis, Missouri.

This is a wonderful learning experience for the kids and a BIG THANK YOU for the chaperones for making it happen.

April School Board Meeting
The Howard-Winneshiek Board of Education took several action steps last Monday night at their April meeting:
  • The position of Activities Director / 7-12 Dean of Student Services was approved for the 2017-18 school year. This position has been posted and applications are being excepted.
  • The Board approved the resurfacing of the track with work to be scheduled in June.  The goal is for the stadium project to be completed BEFORE RAGBRAI.
