The Howard-Winneshiek Community School District is a special place for young people. Two groups that contribute to making CADET NATION special are our School Nurses and Teachers.

There are no words to express how much we all appreciate School Nurses Diana Huhe, Amy Drees and Sheila Halweg. THANK YOU for taking such good care of us!

Howard-Winn's progress towards the 2020 vision has all been made possible by courage and innovation of teachers transforming themselves. THANK YOU for your commitment and dedication to serve the students of CADET NATION!

CADETS FORWARD!

Dashing to the end of the school year!
As we enter into the last 15 days of the school year, many wonderful things are happening. Field trips, cave explorations, track meets, golf meets, award nights, graduation; this is a time of excitement and celebration. CADET NATION has accomplished much. Enjoy it all!

Kindergartners tour the new stadium!
This past week, Mrs. Timp's kindergarten class selected, as a reward for their positive behavior, a tour of the new stadium complex.  Students brought their iPads and took pictures of their adventure.  They got to see the new bleachers, go inside the new press box and into the new concession stand. Students also got to walk on the new sidewalk over to the visitor stands.  These young CADETS share how excited they were and how they are looking forward to running, marching, and competing in the facility!

THANK YOU to Kirk from ESTES Construction for leading the tour!

STADIUM UPDATE
The last pieces are coming into place!  The old stadium lights are down and the new lights are going up!  We should be able to use them Friday, May 12th when we host the NEIC JH Girls Conference Track meet! Resurfacing of the track is scheduled for June.  The entire project will be done prior to RAGBRAI!  Good things happening!

Finding passions and then connecting them to professions!
A big "SHOUT OUT" to NICC welding students!  THANK YOU for constructing two more portable picnic tables! You contribution of time and energy for making these for the Community is GREATLY appreciated.  They will get much use during RAGBRAI! A special "SHOUT OUT" to senior Logan Johnson and junior Rebecca Hughes! Their projects were on display along with their classmate's at last Friday's NICC Welding class Open House!  Very IMPRESSIVE!
